My name is Emmi Burke. I am a sophomore studying Economics and Environmental Policy. I lived in Columbia, South Carolina until the age of 15, when I moved to Richmond, Virginia.
WhenI am back home in Richmond, I spend all of my time playing with my 5 year old little sister; she is the most adorable little child ever (I’m not bias about this whatsoever in case you can’t tell). When I am here at school, I keep busy by working at the Cohen Career Center and interning with the Skinner Law Office. As well, I am a part of W&M’s Park RX Research Lab. We focus on educating people on greenspaces and promoting physical and mental health through environmental connectedness.
I love being outside and fully believe in nature’s healing qualities. I am an avid runner and am currently training for the Williamsburg Half Marathon which is coming up in mid-February. Wooh wooh! As well, I love hiking, taking long walks, and simply just exploring the world. I love to travel and am hoping to live abroad after graduation and help with sustainable development in developing countries.
I am excited to see what insights this course has to offer and getting to know and learn from all of the marvelous students in class with me.
